To the people who put the effort in here at BCF

Give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it!

I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to all the people that take the time to help others here on the forum.

During my restoration, I had endless questions about this thing-a-ma-jig or that whatschamacallit. As time went on I learned it's pronounced wing not fender, boot - trunk, bonnet - hood, windscreen - windshield and petrol not gas.

If you visit this forum everyday like I do, you know and we know who the regulars are. (A shout out to Keoke, we miss your here). It's the regular players who we can always count on.

Sadly some people (even the ones who visit everyday) just don't put in the effort to go look at their own cars or take a photo of their car, in an effort to help who is asking for it. And that I think is a shame.

So to the fine people here who do take the time to get under their car, take something apart, get their camera out, look up in their manual or just know the answer....I say thank you very much! (A shout out to Basil...and the moderators of course)

Happy motoring!
Roger

Yep, I agree!

:yesnod:

Amen!! I'm new and have already asked a couple of questions. Recieved nothing but fast informative responses. And I might add with no attitudes!

charlie, no attitude?, obviously he aint got the bill yet!

A big thank you also from me. I thoroughly enjoy the forum although I only ever check this section of it.

As has been said before you can only reap what you sow.

I have to give a special thanks to you AUSMHLY as you were the one to get me started on the LED's in the instruments. Reading that whole topic was an absolute joy especially the funny comments. I now have LED's in the stop/turn/park lights front and rear. (Although the ones in the front don't do stop funny enough). I have enjoyed learning about LED's and seeing the results of trying different size/color.

It did lead me to taking the speedo and tacho apart for cleaning/repainting and to do some other extra work on the wiring like more fuses (that haven't been finished yet) but that's how things happen sometimes.

Thanks again.

bundyrum.

Right on Roger!

Several of you have been most helpful to me directly and through reading others' posts. There are a few of you in particular that simply amaze me with your wealth of knowlegde and timely responses. Your wives must allow you garage and computer time more often than mine.

For what it's worth I have a 67 that's partially apart, but still mostly assembled and can be photographed for those 10-20 year restoration projects where you've forgotten what goes where and how. It certainly was helpful assembling my other car.

Keep up the great work. I wish my other car club had an interactive site like this.

Robert

You have to buy Healey time. As in "Yes, dear, I'll help you find that new dress" and "Oh, good, your mother is comming to visit". (But watch out for "Does this dress make my butt look bigger")

I surely do add my concurrence to the sentiments of this thread! I would have often felt "isolated" over the years if it were not for the great Healey people that have helped me out time and time again. The Internet forums have definitely improved the ability of us to rapidly comunicate and I have gotten to where I really, really use it a lot. I don't post helpful answers to questions all that often as more knowledgeable folks than me usually have "better answers" than I can offer, but I sure do appreciate the response to my questions! A great example is my last little project with replacing the king pins, etc. on my BJ8, which should have been a very straightforward job right out of the manual, but NO, of course not! Nothing went right and you folks were invaluable to me in keeping my sanity and finally getting the darn thing done last week. She is on the road again and in large part thanks to you guys. I also want to add to the above that I miss Keoke, too. Sure would like to see his header again on the forum! Thanks again guys - and of course, my friend Basil, too!

I can honestly say that without this wonderful resource, I wouldn't be able to keep my cars on the road. What an amazing way for us to band together and help one another, and also to maintain a bond. Hats off to Basil, and hats off to the collective!

I agree to all the above. When I had my MGB and XK140 in the dark ages before the internet I got no support. The clubs only talked about WHO the take their repairs to and not how to DIY. Healey people are smart and willing to help. Thanks all.

:iagree:

The BCF is one of the most useful resources...

As a non-Healey owner I am a rare visitor to these halls, but I have always noticed that Dave Russell steps up quite often with help and high-quality advice.

You have a good community here.

I agree about Dave Russell. The place wouldn't be the same without him. His knowledge of these cars is substantial and his posts are always factual and helpful.

Cheers to you, Dave, for your input and help!
