good luck ... are you taking it where they use a power lift? i remember many years ago when i took my sprite for inspection, and they raised it on a power lift and the lift crushed both sill panels. i will add that the body was in bad shape at the time, but i still don't believe i will ever allow the car to be raised this way again.

Won't be on a lift at all. Here in LA the inspections are confined to brakes, lights and smells. It's the smells that concern me a little. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
Thanks for the good wishes.

nice! emissions is bear here as well in pa, but if you only drive a certain number of miles in a year, you're exempt.

Just bring the boys at the inspection station a big bowl of seafood and squirrel gumbo with lots of filé. That oughta cover up any car stink.

Bon chance, mon frére!

Well Morris, what can I say! Never saw your advice till I got back.Didn't need to bribe them or cover up the smells from the car. The inspector said, do you have a horn, wipers, lights and brakes? I answered yes, and all he did was see if everything worked, then asked me to drive into the building and stop in a hurry. No problem! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
Now we're street legal I suppose the fun will start. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Woohoo!

That's the kind of Inspection I like..Congrats!

My state just changed the law so that vehicles with a date of manufacture 35 years or older are exempt from inspection. That is so good for my 71 Midget. I don't like anyone else touching my car anyway. Last time I got mine inspected the idiots could not get on the lift becasue the lift was too wide and kept trying to get it on bent some stuff. Then the guy could't find reverse and kept grinding the heck out of the gears. Now I don't have to deal with that and can run a tag from 1971 on the back of the car as long as I have a valid tag inside the car somewhere.

Excellent news, fun time.

Used to live in Belize back in the early 90's: the inspection there involved a brake test... You accelerated along the car park and hit the brakes. If the brakes didn't work you'd find yourself parked up to the doorhandles in the caribbean!!

A very effective way of eliminating unsafe vehicles from the road and building artificial reefs at the same time!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif
