"TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Question:

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Hi There Scott;

You`ve never been so right about that stuff called "Work" getting in your way of this Hobby: Its a real bummer!

I`m not certain when your leaving for Europe but If you wanted to take a peek @ my TR; I could meet you somewhere off RT.33 (RT. 512 is good) tomorrow Thurs the 12th as the weather is supposed to be really nice:

There are over 90 viewers on this BCF alone since I`ve posted her yesterday! I`m really hoping I won`t need to put her on ebay:

Let me know & We`ll go from there:

Thanx and Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif

PS: I might be taking a ride to nearby Allentown Area this Thurs to see a Friends New Gorgeous Morgan? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

That'd be th' 'mommy' I had in mind...

...and around here jewelery is a dead giveaway: "Somethin's goin' on... what're you up to NOW?!?!"

Just act ~extremely~ surprised when it arrives, and thank her profusely for knowing EXACTLY what you wanted for <insert some significant date/event here>!

I've extrapolated this from Monty Python's "Confuse a Cat" episodes... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Scott,

Isn't it about time that we see a nice Triumph in that garage?

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Scott - if you're going to the "Dark Side", do it with dignity & get something like this one - the best possible!

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Good Morn`n to All;

""TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That`s not a Question anymore:

Kind of Interesting: There have been quite a lot of viewers of My TR on this Forum; But No Takers:

I`ve found a Pretty Nice `61 TR3A:

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif "Ebay"!! "TOOOOO BAD"!!!!!!!!!

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Ebay has brought new life to the British sports car market. British auto parts sellers have dusted off all those NOS parts that they thought they were going to eat. Not to mention the windfall some people have made on their cars. Look at an average listing. There will be over 1000 views of your car by the end of auction. maybe 2000 with the condition your car is in. What was your alternative if not for Ebay where you could show it to over 2000 people?

I love the Spitfire I bought on Ebay. I probably never would have bought another British car after all these years if not for Ebay. If your get your reserve and sell your car, you'll be thanking Ebay, not the members of this forum. This is the last place I would think to list my car if I were to sell it. Everybody's got one already.

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Hi There Strikle;

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif

I have bought and sold many a Brit Car on ebay over the yrs: I`ve only had One Dis-Appointment & That was with an Alfa:

There is no doubt that for the buck you pay ebay; You can`t get the same "Bang" for Your Money elsewhere: It`s the best advertisement bar none:

I totally agree with yourself that the Nice Folks on the various forums & clubs that are out there; The majority of which already have an LBC: But, There may be just "One" that has something & is Looking to get something else: Such as Scott; Maybe? A friend of mine recently purchased a Gorgeous Morgan + 4 cause he saw it on one of the Local Club Classifieds: So, You never know? It`s always a nice thought that someone locally will have fun with the car & as I suspect You know; TR4A-IRS`s are not a "Dime a Dozen":

This is where I found the TR3A & will be looking for an E-Type within a yr: I`ll also be checking "ALL" the Classifieds via Clubs & Forums such as this one:

Anyways; Thanx for the comments and Lets All have Fun watching the Bidding Process:

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif ??????????????????????????????????

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

The forum was the first and only place I listed my TR4/A. I got lucky and it sold in one week. Saved all the Ebay fees too.

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Hi There Folks;

Some of You people out there may or may not have an Interest in this?

Here`s some Early Race Results from Brit Clubs & Ebay:

Ebay = 202 Views - 6hrs
BCF = 120 Views - 5 days
VTR = 187 Views - 5 days
bcclv = 40 Views- 5 days
DVT = Not at the Gate yet:

"AND THEIR IN THE FIRST TURN" and The Leader is;

Interesting don`t you think? Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif ????????

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Not Really

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Don't you think this thread would be more appropriate for the 'Classified' forum? We all know you have a car for sale.

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Hi There Strikle;

In response to your post & for "Your" info;

You were 100% correct: In 2 days there have been nearly 700 lookers & 50 watchers of My Car; Not Bad at All:

Lets see where it goes from here;

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Reserve has been met and your TR4A-IRS will be going to a new home. Wont you hate to see it leave?

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Hi There Strickle & Dave;

Yup; The Reserve has been met: As I had mentioned I kept it low:

Relative to the High Bidder so far (Nearly 2000 lookers / Over 100 watchers); You have to give someone the Benefit of the Doubt: You have to begin somewhere:

I have emailed "Scott_Hower", Who had an Int. in My TR from the get-go: He`s out of town but I hope watching the auction: It would be nice to see a Local LBC lover get My Sweet TR:

Well; Lets see what happens today: Big Time in the Old Town this Afternoon! Auction ends approx. 1:00pm:

Have Fun Folks;

Regards, Russ

PS: Can`t wait to post pics of My (Hopefully) `61 TR3A: Under Negotiations!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

I agree with giving a new bidder a chance, but I had several leave me high and dry and resign from eBay after winning auctions on slot cars, so I now require bidders with feedback of 5 or less, and with a rating percentage below 98% to email me first and request permission or I can delete their bids. It did cut down on the number of failed auctions. I never rejected a request to bid, but felt if they could not even follow that simple and clear direction, they may not be able to pay either.

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

That was sure a nice car. Did it go locally? Stay in the U.S.A.?

Re: "TO SELL OR NOT TO SELL"? That is the Questio

Well Folks; It`s Done!

Frankly; I`m kind of dis-appointed: There were nearly 1800 lookers / 100 watchers:

I thought that by lowering My Reserve; I would get more bidders but It did`nt happen: So; Its gone to a person who lives in "Glenshaw, PA"; Wherever that is?

All I can say is; This person got one heck of a Buy!!

Now; Its time for Myself to get back to the Negotiations on the `61 TR3A:

See Ya All Later

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Russ,
Sorry is watchers like me got your hopes up. I watch 10 or 20 auctions each week for informational purposes, or just to see where the market is running on some items and seldom bid on most of the items.

Glenshaw PA is NE of Pittsburgh, so the car is traveling to almost the opposite corner of the state from you.

I agree that the buyer got a great deal!
