Thanks Paul, was rackin my nogin to figure out what in blazes he was counting down.
He was working late in to the night in his part of town.

Remember doing the same thing on my brothers beach house. Figured about 12:30 we had better stop as the sound of the saw was really carrying across the inlet

The last row the planks had to be rip-cut which too a while to finish.
 
I knew it! No matter how much you measure and calculate the last row is a bear, IF you want it to all blend properly.

Basil did his own, which is great. I just watched........and then paid, but it was cheaper than me ruining a whole pile of beautiful hardwood and my back at the same time.

Can't wait to see the pics, Boss....
 
I opted fer tile. Wet saw and mud. :jester:

After 3 weekends and most after-work week nights, I am finally finished (except we still need to paint the walls and I need to install the new baseboards.

Are those pre-finished hardwoods or did you have to sand and stain?
 
So did you have trouble with it when you ripped it? Do you cut from the top or the bottom to avoid splintering? Is it nailed or glued?
(It is gorgeous by the way!)
 
No problems ripping - just time consuming. The flooring boards are nailed to 3/4inch plywood using a special flooring nail gun (which I bought)
 
Great job Basil. They look as good as mine and won't stink for the next week.
