I m thinking of buying a MGB GT 65 for a winter car.
having a midget and jag mk2 for the summer.
now when i say winter, I live in norway
so its cold dark like southern maine but not like alaska

the only issues are the two inches of ice on the road ... and some times not.. like driving on pot hole convention.

now I walk to work so realy i need to go to the grocery store every two weeks or so
so I dont realy need a winter car at all. hence buying the mk2

the B looks good its just cheap becase its january and its Right hand drive (so is the mk2)
and im in the mg club here so iknow all the guys and we rebuilding the midgets engine.

any thoughts ?

Yeah, I'd get it.
Always good to have a hardtop in the stable for those late night cruises
:joyous:

yeah the nights are all bunched up in the winters. I think the sun set around 4 today.
some winter tires new shocks and some weight in the back it should be fine for the grocrey run. (and wine)

I never needed to worry about extra weight in the rear, Steve. Not in the roadsters or the GT. That rear hatch and steel lid already bias it to be a bit rear-heavy.

I negotiated roads from Hampton, VA to Pittsburgh, PA in snow storms in the Allegheny mountains with Semperit "mud & snow" tires. Kept a set of chains in the boot but never put 'em on. Went thru some real storms, too... one had the PA Turnpike shut down, we were the last car off the highway.

I imagine it would suit you just fine for the purpose at hand. MGB GT is a good, solid little car. Heck, I even like the RHD part, but then I'm a bit biased there...

well the right hand drive is weird in the jag MK2 the roundabouts are like being on a marry-go-round.
and the B would be ok on gass (9 dollars a gallon here)
