To "B", or not to "B"

Re: To "B", or not to "B"

Ah, the Sprite reminds me of being back in a Fighter cockpit!
"Too close for missles, switching to guns."
You bigger guys prefer the B for obvious reasons, and maybe that's why I like the Spridget better, being somewhat of a "Munchkin."

“Fighter cockpit”!?! Too funny. Excluding most vintage aircraft, I’d be willing to bet with only a couple of folds, you could almost fit a Midget in a fighter cockpit.

Tony,

Unfortunatly, yes it has. This has occurred to me. Im 6'0" and 230. I know of a Midget in the area that never gets driven. Owned by a local scrapyard owner. I think I'll go see him and ask him if he'll let me sit in it. This may solve the question easily.

If you don't fit in a Midget then try a Spitfire - much easier access to get in and out and a roomer interior. Similar car to the Midget of course.

runs aways before the MG guys lynch me ...

I don't know Bret. All the fighters I was ever in were fairly snug. (F-100, F-104, A7D, F-16).
Or, was I the midget you were referring to?

Re: To "B", or not to "B"

Ya beat me to it, Chuck. Had 62 Sprite MkII in high school MANY years and pounds ago. I was 6'1" and 155 lbs.....now 190 lbs. They are a real kick but suspect that sitting it one will make the decision.

Speaking of munchkins, I had a friend one of the places I worked that I used to take for rides in my "B" at lunch time and he fell in love with it and had to have one. Well, he was barely 5' 1" or there abouts and couldn't reach the pedals in the "B" with the seat all the way up. He was really determined to make do so he modified the seat frame and was happy. I tried to drive it one day and couldn't get in. He had to get in and push the seat back for me so I could drive it. LOL

Re: To "B", or not to "B"

Hey Steve, You didn't mention a budget. If you can spend a little more than a B costs (well, twice as much), I would recommend an A. Body on frame so rust isn't so fatal. Tractor engine reliability. Scares the snot out of you at 50 mph! I had a 58 that was my daily driver for a couple of years. Absolutely loved it. Cheers.

Re: To "B", or not to "B"

Gator,

Never thought of an A, I'll have to ponder that one. I'll have to learn something of them as I know nothing about them.

On a different note. Went to drive a local Midget today (40deg. and sunny), and sadly the earlier posts were correct. I can fit, but getting into a midget requires a bit of show horn action, ( alot like the Chrysler Pacifica I rented a couple of weeks ago). So I guess now the question has turned into "To "B", or to"A".

I can probly make the budet deal with the increased expense. After all, its only money.

Being self employed I've come to realize that money really does not exist, Im convinced that it's really only a myth.

Yeah I think my legs shrunk and they moved the darned steering wheel closer to the seats too.

I noticed that the seat belts are now shorter than they used to be, as well. It must be part of a cost reduction thing.

Nah, I think it's a communist conspiracy. The laundry machine manufacturers are in on it too. the dryer keeps shrinking my jeans as well.
