Need any info for my 1976 MG Midget. GAN6UG187285G...don't know any background on previous owners. I am unable to get a title or registration....Please Help... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Unable?

Who did you get the car from? That is where I would start. They should have signed a title over to you when you bought the car. If they lost the title, they need to send into the state for a replacement title.

The guy I got it from had the same problem. He has no info either. I really didn't think it would be this hard. As far as I can tell it has never been registered, according to 17 states that have been checked through the DMV. I even had the police run the VIN...No luck there either.

Your best bet may be to get a vin plate and a registration from a vehicle that has been junked.

Had the same problem with my '71, back in the day. Original owner was from New York, which at the time was a non-title state (don't know if it still is....). The Virginia DMV wouldn't accept the bill of sale and NY registration. I did just what Jack suggests, and had no further problems.

Google....there are companies that specialize in exactly what you need....cost is a couple hundred bucks....or wait for Zack or his mom to come up...they've done it before also.

Check with your state's DMV. Most states have a procedure for abandoned vehicles. Just tell them that it was left in your driveway/yard. A friend of mine is doing just that with a 914 and a Land Rover that were left on the property when he bought the house.

He got the car with a bunch of Healeys as a package deal and I guess it did not come with one. I have not tried Broadway yet. Let us know how it goes.
