tires on a 100-6, inner tubes or not?

I just went to a tire-place to get an estimate on 5 new tires for our 100-6. They told me I can put normal radial tires on it, without using inner tubes. But right now there are radials with innertubes on it. What is the best way to go? The car has the spoked wheels on it. The estimate they gave me for all 5 tires plus putting them on the car was $ 360, that is including innertubes.

If your wire wheels are new with rubber which seal the holes to the spokes (look at attachment), you dont need innertubes. Else, you need innertubes. Is is smart to change them together with the tire. Be sure to remove any old rust and dirt on the inside of the wheels, and you should also have a rubber band between the wheel and the innertube to protect the innertube from the spoke nippels.

[/ QUOTE ] HI Miranda, I suggest that you stick with the configuration Tires&Tubes as presently used on the car. I might suggest the addition of rim bands if they are not presently used. Tubeless tires without the use of tubes should not be used on the original spoke wheels.--FWIW---Keoke
