Tire size

I'm trying to decide on a diff ratio for a BE, and tire size is obviously a variable in the calculation. Assuming a stock 1275, 3.9 differential, a stock body with no fender flaring, and no more than a quarter-inch spacer on the rear wheels, what tire size are people using?

And what do you think is the widest tire that would fit the above description without rubbing?

Doh. I was assuming the standard 13" wheels. They're probably narrower than I'd like, so I guess I should modify my post to:

On stock wheels I'm using 165/70-13. Same diameter as the originals but a bit too wide for the stock rim width.

155 80R13 on wires here.

If you are using stock BE rims, no larger than 155 80 13.

Just to throw a monkey wrench in the gears here.

I'm running 185x55 on 15x5.5s.
They must wind up close to original height since the speedo
is darn near spot on according to my GPS.

Yeah, I know...weirdo tire combo on a weirdo modified BE.

Are those Calif plates or do the ones from SC just look the same?

That is an old photo with Cali plates.
I currently run an old blue/yellow front
Cali plate that came with the car. "Heybugi"
I ordered a custom plate for SC that says the same for the rear. "Heybugi".
I just yesterday got my new tags for the FZJ80. Boykin plates.
Sprite, the new pup, approves.
