Tire Size

What is the optimum tire size to run on a 15 x 6" rim. I am not doing this on a TR6 but the wheelwell is similar.

I was thinking of going with 205 x 60 15s.

I've been looking into this, to put new tires on the stock 15 x 5.5" TR6 steel wheels. I think 205/70-15's should work for this, and for your application too.

What tires do you have at the moment, and how accurate are they related to the speedo? If you change things dramatically, the speedo won't be that accurate. See this link from a previous thread to play with tire size versus speedo accuracy:

They are for that strange beast below (really - it IS an MGA)

They are going on some Dayton 15 x 6 wires, and as I am using an electronic speedometer, the tire size is immaterial to the gauge. I just wanted to see what people have been fitting. Guess I'll try 205 x 60, then maybe go up to a 65 or even 70 series tire if I don't have sufficient ground clearance.

The electronic speedos are interesting - you start a measured mile, press a button, drive the mile (at whatever speed you like), press the button again and your speedo is calibrated!
