Tips on removing fan shroud?

I tried gently tugging on it as I didn't want to pull too hard, but not dice. Any tricks to removing the shroud?

One cool bit I found was that the top housing has a stamp on it from back when it was built. Pretty cool.

Take it to the radiator shop just as it is.
 
I once "removed" a valve cover on a '48 Chevy 6 with a 20 gauge.

Don't use anything less than #6 high brass though. :cowboy:

Oh crap - I had a replacement one <span style="text-decoration: underline">without</span> a shroud recored already. I though the shroud was removable.....
 
It is soldered on, if you must remove it, use a torch to melt the solder but be careful not to melt the solder holding the tank to the core.
 
Reason I said take it to radiator shop as is....they'll disassemble & reassemble.
