Maybe, but someone else rebuilt my MG and I've had my fair share of sizable problems that I've had to fix after I got it. Some pretty major too.
 
If you ever have to replace that trans on the roadside, we DEFINITELY want a full pictorial report... I would think that the trans should stay stationary in the garage or storage shed, until needed.
 
You only need two things:

1. Duct tape

2. WD40

If it moves and you don't want it to..duct tape it

If it doesn't move and you want it to...use the WD40

I had a friend once who actually used duct tape to tape his boat trailer to the back of his car when the weld holding the ball broke. It got him to the next town.....

I have no spare pistons or cam shafts, at present! "Probly need to
order me up 3 or 4 spares to carry along!

The good Lord knows I've changed many a fuel pump and coil offside
the highway.

That spare tranny is taking things just a bit too far.... why would you ever want to do that on the side of the road?
Dale your car has had its share of breakdowns, enough for at least any 5 cars i can think of. the scales have to tip in your favor now. I think we should start a pool and guess how far dale can drive his car now, i want 7342 miles without a breakdown.

I made two cross country trips with only a spare set of points, plugs and some fuel line. I had some tools of course, but nothing like Moss on wheels.

I have to jump to Dale's defense here.

It's like us taking up surgery. We would want as much support and help as we could get. Dale does the same. He is getting better and pretty soon we will all wonder what the fuss was all about.
This Enduro will be the deciding factor. Then it will be Dale and Gardener
touring the island while we all sit here in the cold and complain.
I think they will get the last laugh.

Dale, Dale....I am SO disappointed!! :frown: Carry an extra cam shaft or 2?? Good lord, man! By this point, you should be able to take a shovel, dig a piece of rebar out of the road and carve a replacement with your handy dandy Craftsman Leatherman!! Have you learned NOTHING from all this invaluable on-the-job training??? We may just have to come down there and lock Amos up until you can prove yourself worthy by creating some gasoline using fermented grapes, boiled ashpalt and the livers of 17 Puerto Rican swallowtailed butterflies!!!

I dunno, Dale, I'm with you man...you never know what might break! Worry, worry, worry! You didn't have a few conspicuous items in your trunk though. I didn't see any spare engines, rear-ends, brake assemblies, windshields, axle shafts, headlights, master cylinders etc. (I have experienced problems with all of these on the road!)...

Hey!! On second thought, a stroke of genius, why not just put a spare car in tow! :devilgrin:

One of 'ems gotta be Gardener. It would be in his best interest to have Dale cart all that stuff around instead of himself. :yesnod:
 
The more I think about it, the more I like the suggestion
to remove everything that is functioning properly and
put THEM in the trunk.

Install my new spare parts into the engine knowing I have
fully functional spares in the trunk.

PS: Thanks David!! I do feel very comfortable now working
with front and rear suspensions.

The tranny in my Jeep was a joke photo. That's the tranny
David and I installed along with the new clutch assembly.
