Just got word that Dick LeClair ("Tinkerman" here) died. No details as of now.

Most of you know Dick through his many posts over the years as he worked on his TR3 restoration. Sadly, I don't believe he completed it.
 
That's a shame. About Dick I mean, not the car.

Wow terrible news. Sad to hear that. Dick and I conversed many a email. My Wife and I were heading his way this fall and wanted to stop in to meet him in person.... He will be missed.
 
Very sad. Dick stopped by my place a few years ago and left with some extra 3A seat cushions I had. So sorry to hear of his passing I was rooting for him to have that first drive
 
Bummer, I was also cheering for him, and will continue.
I think Randy and I had lunch with him when he was passing thru. -It should remind all of us that we are only passing thru.
 
Same feelings here. Sad. We're all friends. Not good losing folks as we get up there, too. Better place Tinkerman.
 
Update from the Plateau British Car Club, of which Dick was a founding member: For those who don’t know, after 20 years he was finally almost finished with the restoration of his TR-3 and had been having trouble fitting the pieces together. His wife said that he had just fastened the bonnet down and was extremely happy about that. He drove to the store for some soda and upon returning, drove his car in the garage, turned it off, placed the keys on the dashboard, and died. Apparently he did not suffer any long term pain or discomfort.

At his request, there will be no formal service. I will be sure his wife knows we're thinking about them.
