on a 1275 does anybody have a picture or a diagram of where the timing marks are. I am going to check static timing on saturday.

The timing marks are under the front crank pulley. You can only see them if you lay down on the ground and peer at the perfect angle. Get a bright flash light. And... you may need to close one eye.

Laying down on the ground under the midget seems to be my favorite place lately, wifey says so....oops

Your head needs to be about 6 inches in front of the front bumper (depending on the height of the car and the thickness of your head). ;-)

AAACHH !!! my bumber is off... so maybe 12 inches in front of the valence

Just keep moving around until you can see it. There should be a flat bit of metal with 3 Pointy bits. The crank pulley has a tiny notch for TDC.

And when you do find it,put a dap of white paint on it,makes it easier to see.

Better yet- when you get lined up, put markes on top of the motor, somewere you can see them without craling around on the floor.

A tiny notch huh....well I cant see it..Even now when the car is running well. Aside from pulling the rda again any suggestion on how to clean/find the notch in the crank pulley ??

Find it by feel, then move it to an accessible location to mark it with paint.

Feel it with your finger, it is a small notch cut in the front of the damper wheel.
