Timing Mark Relocation

So, I wanted to move the timing marks on my '63 Midget's 10CC engine from the bottom of the timing cover to the top of the cover.....Jeff @ Advanced Distributors markets a kit to do that, but not for the pulley used on my early engine....so, after some discussion, Jeff sent me the pointer to see what I could do with it.

Here's the first stab at it...

You can see in the photos below how I've attached his pointer to the upper part of my timing cover & marked TDC on my pulley by cutting a slot in it & painting that slot white.

Next, I've got to advance the engine through all the other timing marks on the bottom of the timing cover & cut slots in my pulley so I can identify the various locations off TDC where the timing needs to be set.

Tony your engine looks great so far, I still do not understand why the timing marks were put on the bottom.

Cause that engine was used for many many years in other things long before it ever saw a spridget.
