TR6 Timing help!

Got a 74 1/2 TR6 back in June. The PO installed the Pertronix ignition conversion as well as the upgraded vacuum advance unit. The dynamic timing should now be 10 deg BTDC. When I put the timing light on, the timing mark at the pointer was on the drivers side of the TDC mark. Is this right? I guess my question is which side of the TDC mark is BTDC?

If I'm understanding your question, I think you've got it correctly..BTDC is to the driver's side of the TDC mark...12° advance would be farther away toward the driver's side of the TDC mark than 10°.

Get a vacuum guage...it's easier and more accurate.

Cheers
Tush
