Time to replace my 23yr old tires!

I want to replace my Michelin redlines, want to remain with redlines, anyone have any experience with the Universal Vintage Tire Company? They offer a replacement that looks like it will fit the bill, not require tubes, etc.

No experience with the company, but I do have experience with old tires. DO NOT drive that car at any speed until you replace those tires and the sooner, the better. They can and will disintegrate on you and even at 20MPH, that is not a good thing to have happen.
 
I run these Goodrich Tires on American Racing Silverstones. They're from UVT, near Hershey , PA, which was a convenient 40 min. drive for me.

Thanks for the safety reminder Paul! I agree! She's not going anywhere until the tires are replaced! Although I have driven all over on these for the past 23 years. Frank, what size are the tires in your pic?? Will they fit the stock rims for the TR6?

Sure. They will fit a TR6. Mine are on the '250'

Back on topic, Doesn't Coker offer a modern redline? or are they selling the Universals Frank has?
 
Frank, here is a pic from my phone of the TR6 last weekend. Hard to see that these are the 23yr olds? I will post some new pics when I get the new skins mounted. I know that Coker has the "commander" direct replacement for the Michelins, but I like the look of the BFG's, a little wider, more aggressive tread design and they still have the red line. Thanks again for the input!'

Ben, when I bought the BFG's the price was less than Coker by maybe $50 and since UVT was kinda local and I persuaded them to mount and balance them for free.

The Coker won out for me. I favored the look and proportions of the original Michelins but, old rubber is just too scary. Plus for me the BFGs were a dead heat as far as price. So far I like the Coker tire as for road feel & noise and well, anything is better than 30+ year old tires, full stop.
