Tiger Frame

I'm not I'm following what you're after. The Tiger is a unitary structure and the body doesn't had a separate frame. are you referring instead to a front crossmember to carry the suspension?? If so, there's nothing available right now as a direct bolt on replacement, you'll need to rework anything you may get.

Yes, I do understand that it is a unibody. However, since the frame is in need of repair, just thought about cutting it out, fabricating a new one and trying the whole thing to the outrigger boxes and the front and rear rails.

I do apologize for the bad link. Goto https://www.BritishV8.org and look under Sunbeam in the Photo Gallery for Wilfred Potter. He frabicated one. I am just looking for any other design and or feed back.

Thank you all and I am looking forward to aquiring everyones expertise.

Thanks again,

R

I'd agree, try to repair what's built into the body rather than attempting to cut it out. With all the places you'd have to cut to remove the existing "frame" components you'd probably end up either frustrated and dropping it or with a body that was no longer usable. If it's that bad you should probably look for a better example or if it doesn't matter to you, an Alpine for a rebody of the V8 components.

I replaced the rear legs in mine due to rust, and it was a big job, made easier only by the fact I was going to replace the trunk floor as well.

The other alternative would be a tube frame chassis skinned with the Tiger body. Then you could add all the suspension goodies your pocket book can handle. Should be able to get it well below original 2400# weight. Might even look for Tom Patton's fiberglass body parts. Modern design suspension, lower weight, sounds fast to me. [censored] the budget, full speed ahead!
