Tie rods zerk

Just had my order refunded without explanation by that online Hyundai dealer - haven't called them yet but will bet the boots are no longer sold.

Given the dimensions of the top and bottom openings, as well as the height, wonder how it would be possible to source some replacements.

As Randy says, put it on the list of routine maintenance items. Check boots annually, replace as needed..

I purchased a full set of the dust boots from AutoFarm after telling them my problems with my past supplier and they said there's works. I haven't changed out the boots with the new ones yet to verify.

Any recent luck from folks trying alternate suppliers/part numbers?

I just noticed the tie rod boots I got from Moss almost exactly a year ago are already cracking (on a car that has been driven only 1500 miles since and is stored in a cool, dry barn).

The set I had before those were from AH Spares (and they looked a little different), and I thought they were crappy for only lasting 4 years. Now I'm thinking they weren't so bad.

I always used Mercury marine 24C grease in these type joints in other cars . When they are new pack them full then fit and forget. The grease is fully waterproof and seems to hold off boot cracking obviously here in the UK conditions may be different but it's worth mentioning.

This looks good too, on eBay - they have detailed dimensional drawings for their designs:

Put them on the list to be obviated and install grease less sealed units.-:angel2:
