Through out bearing question

Hi
Replacing the through out bushing on a 948 sprite with a active center bearing from Minia minia.
The new bearing has a plastic housing. Will this hold up to the heat that is in that area?
Or should i pop out the carbon bushing and have its housing machined to fit the new bearing. The out side edge will be on the thin side. Might be as thin as 1/16 of an inch. But I would trust a 1/16 piece of metal than the plastic.
the ears would be metal not plastic
Thanks

Ok Thanks
they must be working. Any idea how long it will last under normal use?

i havent installed mine yet, but i hear it will outlast the carbon throw out many times over.....it looks much stronger...z

I really think they last about the same maybe a little bit longer and smoother with the roller bearing!...a lot depends on how you drive as to how long either throw-out bearing will last!!
