Throttle linkage sticking

The throttle is sticking in my '59 Bugeye. The pedal will depress about 1" then stick....a little more pressure it will break free and jerk you backwards. I've oiled the wires but I think now it might be where it attaches to the carbs. Any help?

Replaced mine with - of all things - a new biycle cable from my local shop. greased the heck out of it beforehand and presto - works great.

Be careful of creating any angles. The bike shop should have various items to prevent this.

I used a bicycle cable as well. Brought the old cable in, and they were able to make one up to match for cheap.

Also check the linkage in the cockpit for a bit of sticking.

I want to see your 59 bugeye. What part of SC do you live in? Are you in the upstate?

I think the last "official" throttle cable I put on any of my cars was back in the late '60's! I always use bicycle brake cables. <shrug>
