Getting ready for the '80 Fiesta,I moved the '67 GT sideways in our garage.
We have those stupid posts in the center,so I can't just park them all side-by-side.
I wasn't sure it'd work. It's amazing what you can do when you have to.

well done - BTW can't say enough about skates. So you got the Fiesta?

I moved the GT with a floor jack.I'd like to get a set of those rollers,
but I can't justify the price of them.
I'm still waiting for the seller to get me a title for the Fiesta.I was
told that I could have it moved to our house,& then pay for it when I
receive a title. Now Now I'm told that I need to pay for it first,so I guess
I'll wait for the title.

I use harbor freight furniture dollies to roll (lighter) cars around the garage. As long as the floor is not too pitted, and the pusher is OK with a bit of “harumph!” pushing (ie the castors are terrible!!), they work well for a small fraction of the price. (You need a jack to get the car on to the dollies. )

Some day when I’m rich and famous, I’ll get a set of the nifty rollers… I do like them!!

They do go on reasonable sales - and you only need two.

When you're rich and famous, you should have someone to do it for you as you relax in a comfy chair, wave your arms and provide directions.
"No, no Alfred, 6 inches to the right. Now straighten the cover so the stripes are vertical, and is that a bit of dust I see near the hood??"...

I have my MGB on the wheel dollies that you see both at Harbor Freight and some of the normal auto parts stores - however that only gets it an inch or 2 higher than sitting on the ground so my friend Dave and I built extra cribbing out of 4x4 beams to get the car up another 6 inches or so, which is enough to get underneath while the weight is still being supported by the wheels. They move around pretty easily unless you have a shop floor that looks like the surface of the moon.

I do have a small box of really nice castors, but I have
NO welding skills.

Doug,

Shame on you for your lack of respect by referring to those steel columns merely as “stupid posts”. They are after all, performing a VERY important job for you.

A single overhead beam would be much nicer, but I can't spend that
kind of money right now.
