Does anyone know the diameter and thread size for temp sender in the cylinder head. Thanks, Dave.

Needed the same adapter for my 100-6 and got the following reply from Ray Pebbles in Ohio:

You can get the adapter from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. They have an online site. Part number 1098 which is a 5/8-18 and 3/8 BSP adapter

I had to carefully drill it out for the sensor / probe but it worked fine, no leaks.

Cheers
Lew

Thanks Lew, At first I wasn't sure why you gave me info on an adapter, but I might find this piece useful. My interest right now is, what are the threads in the cylinder head. From the write up of the part on the Pegasus web site it might be assumed that the threads in the head are 3/8 BSP. Is that what you are saying?

The early 100-6 cars, as described in the link above, use a different temp gauge fitting at the sending unit than do the later 100-6 and 3000 cars. The early 100-6 cars use a temp gauge sending unit that connects to the radiator. That sending unit uses a female threaded nut to make the connection. The later sending units use a male thread that goes into the cylinder head. To use the early sending unit and to fit it into the head, instead of into the radiator, does require an adapter. If using a later sending unit, it's a different story, with likely no adapter needed.

Yes, my sending unit has a male thread "Nut". It threads directly into the cylinder head. So on a later 3000 cyl. head such as a BJ7 or Bj8 I am still not sure what the thread is in the cylinder head.

Just measured mine, which is out of the cylinder head - the threads are indeed 5/8 - 18
