Did B/L have a standard thread size for their gearshift knobs

I don't know, but the gear knob threads on my TR3 is 7/16"-32. Not a common size.

Thanks Art, do you know if this standard for all TR 3's

ISTR by the time B-L came to be, the fasteners were all SAE sizes, the shifters on former BMC like Spridgets and MGB's was 5/16" or 1/4" NC, IIRC. Triumph may be a different animal. When th' BOB comes up I'll check what's here.

what are you trying to do? when I bought my shift knob it came with an adapter set - I still have the "non fitting" ones somewhere, or you can buy them on ebay for about $8 or so

JP I would like to turn some gear knobs from exotic woods

Thanks Doc, I figured they were about that.

I'm horrid at recollection. :smirk:

Didn't get to unwind th' BMC versions today.

sorry!

I'm sure...maybe your Loti have wimpy sized gear shifts, but Triumphs don't...
