I am thinking of putting in a fuel filter (clear) in the connection between the hard line to the flex line at the front of the car, approximatly under the brake fluid reservoir. (BJ). Do you know what thread these fitting are?
Nope!!, but you can simply cut the line between the clamp on the shroud support and the carb, then install the filter there.??- Volkswagon filter or russel cartrige type fit nice there-Fwiw--Keoke
I do have a filter prior to the pump. I like the filter up front so I can see if the gas is getting to the carbs. I did cut the flex line for another car but the flex frayed a lot. What could stop the fray?
 not suppose to be any rubber hose between tank and pump. Fuel line may be only ground connection between tank and car chassis . consequently, need to put a ground wire from tank to car chassis for safety sake. Putting filter up front make sevicing easy and fuel pump has internal filter of it's own.---Fwiw--Keoke
Forget the clear fuel filter. Another source for vapor lock and no one can intrepret what you are seeing anyway. Glass under the hood isn't a good idea either.
