thread count on the fuel line to flex line

I am thinking of putting in a fuel filter (clear) in the connection between the hard line to the flex line at the front of the car, approximatly under the brake fluid reservoir. (BJ). Do you know what thread these fitting are?

Nope!!, but you can simply cut the line between the clamp on the shroud support and the carb, then install the filter there.??- Volkswagon filter or russel cartrige type fit nice there-Fwiw--Keoke
 
I put mine in the rubber line between the tank and the fuel pump to protect the pump. It is connected with hose clamps.
 
I do have a filter prior to the pump. I like the filter up front so I can see if the gas is getting to the carbs. I did cut the flex line for another car but the flex frayed a lot. What could stop the fray?

:shocked: not suppose to be any rubber hose between tank and pump. Fuel line may be only ground connection between tank and car chassis . consequently, need to put a ground wire from tank to car chassis for safety sake. Putting filter up front make sevicing easy and fuel pump has internal filter of it's own.---Fwiw--Keoke
 
I didn't know that, although the tank is strapped with metal straps to the metal floor of the trunk. I'll check the grounding though.
 
Metal straps should have paper anti scuff pads underneath and be painted. attach ground to a sender screw. --Keoke
 
Forget the clear fuel filter. Another source for vapor lock and no one can intrepret what you are seeing anyway. Glass under the hood isn't a good idea either.
 
My sender(gas gauge) doesn't work anyway. It is pinned on full. I need to sort through the grounding issue for both reasons.
