TR5/TR250 Thoughts on selling my restored TR250??

Haven't really thought of a price. I did look around at prices people were selling them for last night when I re opened an account on here. The cars I looked at were nowhere near completely restored and selling at outstanding prices.

I was offered a few years back at a car meet in FLA 23K but at the time my dad had just passed away and declined his offer.

Here is what appears to be a nice one at a well-known dealer who has sold a couple of TR250s in the past few months (scroll down to the 250 listing & pics):

I had found a few that were partially to mostly restored for 16,000-25,000 last night.

I had figured if I was to sell it it would probably be around 32,000.00. Seeing as this is a car that has had a full body off restoration and runs well enough to be a daily driver. There are only a few things that could effect the sale of it.

One being a small paint chip and small dent in the bead molding on the driver rear quarter panel. Where my dog knocked my motorcycle over onto it. The other being I have a brand new in the box top for it but have yet to get it put on. I had kept the original on it for the longest until it just became a hassle to keep repairing.

Other than those two things the only other thing is I do not have the original radio. It has a Pioneer CD player in it now. Do to the fact when I go for a ride in it or my Miata I like to listen to some tunes.

The paint job has around 8-10 coats of clear. You would have to just about run a saw down the side of it to make a mark that would not buff out.

Oh and the pin stripe in the front is not a decal. It is painted in a Metallic silver and cleared over. (I was told this effected some of the value)
 
John...a comment from the peanut gallery....and a comment that often gets made on this forum...When you have a nice car...which you obviously do...fix all the small things prior to selling if you want top dollar. People willing to spend top dollar do not usually want to start fixing things. Good Luck. Gil NoCal
 
I do believe before I sold it I would put the new top on it.

But I do not think I will end up selling it in the end. But it's nice to be back on BCF
 
I would like to put my hat in the ring for the purchase, if you decide to go that route, would love to have a BRG, looks very nice.
 
Well like I said earlier. If it does go up for sale BCF will be the first to know.
 
Good luck on the decision process. I struggled with the "do I sell" question last year -- had a Bugeye Sprite that I had put a lot of time and effort into and never intended to sell. Long story short I acquired my MGB and found myself contemplating selling the Bugeye after all. Took me all summer to really think it through, and in the end I sold it on to a BCF member. I've not regretted the decision, though I struggled with it.

If the car is no longer something you enjoy having around, then it's time to sell. No sale can take away your memories of working on it with your dad.

If it means a lot to you, have you ever considered using it as a daily driver?
 
I drive it quite often but I work construction so I don't much care for using it as a daily to commute to work in.
