Thought of the Day

On interstates with more than 2 lanes in each direction, most folks around here immediately get in the center or left hand lane. Doesn't matter that the right hand lane is empty and the next intersection is 5 miles away. "Keep Right Except to Pass" signs mean nothing.
The signs should say “Keep right except when ticking off people “

Don't know how seriously it is enforced now but several years ago, Oklahoma added teeth to the law against that practice with a significant fine. It has been the law for a long time though. I know because as a cocky yute, I refused to move over for a car behind me that turned out to be highway patrol. He did let me off with just a warning though.

Law in Colorado too… and they will ticket you

The Lincoln attribution reminds me of a sign that used to be in a restaurant in Everglades City. "Any government that can give you everything you want can take anything you have" - attributed to Thomas Jefferson. I wanted to put next to it a photo of Gerald Ford with "Thomas Jefferson" as an ID label. My wife wouldn't let me.

And just to bring everyone a bit of cheer ...

The only reason Nature allowed humans to spread all over the earth, is that Nature couldn't make plastic.

Now that humans have covered the earth in plastic, Nature doesn't need humans any more.

I drive to work on highway 581.Three lanes in each direction.
I always see some drivers in the fast lane, because they're going
South when they get on to Interstate 81,which can be five miles away.
I always try to leave at least one lane open on the left.
