Just had a catalytic converter shield installed and this is what I picked up from the shop

Yep - like the time I locked my keys in my convertible.
I left the top down,& it was starting to rain.
True story, I used to lock my convertible. I once dated a girl who lived in Richardson (a Dallas suburb). When the Lord of the Rings (movie) came out she didn't want to see it with me but her mom did. So, we went to one of the big theaters with 10 screens in Dallas to see it. I locked the doors on my Spitfire (because I was young and dumb and in Dallas) and when we came out someone had cut my top to get inside.

Looking back on it with twenty something years it's kinda funny, but back then I was furious.

I don't lock the Midget at all but I had a Suzuki Samurai and I would lock it when the top was down and leave it unlocked when the top was up. I figured if someone wanted to steal it (I know - who would want to do that  ) climbing over the back could look at least a bit suspicious.

Oh and, we have a local car dealer who typically have a classic car in the show room. They have an Iris Blue Bugeye right now ($38k CDN - yikes!) but they also have a gorgeous bright Red Samurai - and I might chose it if I had the cash. I don't actually know how much it is but for a throwaway car they are suddenly fetching solid money too.

The most ironic part about it is that I don't usually lock my cars. With my first car, 52 International, it only had an exterior lock on the passenger side, and I didn't like always having to get in and slide across the seat. I also live in a place where it hits 105+ in the summer and I don't have A/C in my cars, so leaving the windows up makes things unbearable when you first get in. So, as a general rule I just don't lock my cars.

We have very little crime in our town, so we don't even lock our house when we are gone.
I have run out of storage space in my garage and house.
I have to store some tools in the Toyota Highlander.
It has over 500,000 miles on it, so not a treasured vehicle.
More of a bother if they broke the windows to get the goods.
