My best personal example is not a garage story but a house one. In the last house we renovated the bathroom and I was mudding the drywall. The room was 6' X 12' - completely empty except for me and the mud and the putty knife, and I lost the putty knife!!!! After about 20 minutes (seriously) I found it - it had fallen in the floor duct. :ROFLMAO: 🤬 😁
 
I usually start every job by tossing at least one tool in the air as a sacrifice to the garage monster that will obviously hide something when I need it most. I have also learned that hardware gets lost much faster if it is something that you really need and can't easily replace. Why is it that you never seem to lose a common nut that you have a drawer full of?
 
And the wives never understand how long things take. But, then I see the wife roaming the house looking for that sewing tool she laid down somewhere.
