Those ugly plastic window cranks

Does anyone know of a nicer window crank handle that will fit on the late model Midgets? Do the chrome window handles from the earlier model Midget fit on the newer style regulators? I noticed a change in part numbers in the VB catalog for both the handles and the window regulators around 1968.

IIRC it was square vs. splined (later) shaft on the regulators. JC Whitless used to sell metal ones for the earlier cars, dunno if there's a suitable equivalent now. The Kingston ones are /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/pukeface.gif if there's ANY resistance at the regulators. Haven't given the Moss replacements enough stick yet so not sure about those... pro'lly the same, tho.

Don't the later chrome MGB ones fit? I think that is what is in my car.

A window crank of another British car with the same shaft will work on yours - if you have splined, you have all those choices (there were some nice ones)....if you have square, you have the nice mid-year MGB ones that'll fit.

If there are any auto jumbles (swap meets) up your way, take one of your handles & rummage through the vendor boxes looking for something that matches....& the vendor will know from whence his handle came.
