When I first got my midget on the road I tested it on some long steep grades with the 1275/ribcase/3.9. I did find the need to down shift on some of them, but it seemed happy to pull the hills in 3rd gear at 55 mph. And... it is so much more dramatic that way! :wink:
 
These were not major roadways (that have sensible grades). These were county roads that were made by following cow paths up the hills (or knobs, as we call them)
 
I'm really looking forwards to getting the new motor and seeing what it can do. While it would have been more efficient to have done a 5-speed swap now, it can be done in the future if I decide I really need it. I'll be holding on to my 4.22 rear as well, so I'll have some options to play with.

All new experiences for me -- I've never driven or ridden in a well running, well tuned LBC. No idea what to expect, but it should be fun. :smile:

They sing Drew, they just sing. It's a happy engine that loves to start and run hard.

It's all you can do to keep the speed down, they love to pass and the tighter the corner the better.

They also love to suck SUVs into corners too fast. Good rear view mirrors are a must to enjoy to the fullest.
