Ok so my house is an old farm house that was built a couple years before we entered into the Great War. All my doors in the house are old style five panel "shoebox" doors. We are missing one door in our house and I have been looking for one for over two years with no luck. My wife got us Netflix not too long ago and so we watch alot of movies now, and it seems that every single movie I watch has my stinking doors. So maybe I just need to drive out to Hollywood and steal one from a set.

Walter....got any photos of the doors? We might be able to find you one through the resources available here on the BCF!

What Tony said. Lots of stuff like that shows up at the flea markets and stuff around here. If I know what I'm looking for I'll keep my eyes peeled. Metaphorically.

I have a guy locally that runs a junkyard for houses! When we remodeled our dining room we removed some chair rail that was original to our home and lost it. I needed 6 feet to complete a section. We took a small piece to this guy and after about 15 minutes of wandering through old doors, paneling, tubs, sinks, toilets and scads of trim he found the exact trim I needed....total charge $.65.
I bet he has your doors somewhere in that place! Post a picture...I'll ask. (I'm looking for an excuse to go back there anyway!)

I don't think there ever was a door made that is not made today.> Just check online.

If the door's you saw were on a set (as opposed to a location), there's a 90% chance they were made from scratch. They also aren't very durable, but then most sets have 1/4" lauan walls with 1"x3" studs. Save yourself the trip, at least for that.
