The legs on this hoist will not fit between the front wheels.

But then maybe it will be easier with the front end up about four inchs.

Wheels off and Jack stands! That'll make it easier for ducking down under to check things as it drops in too.

I have to do the same thing with my cherry picker, too, Jack. No big deal.

I use a floor jack on a bugeye.
Roll it right in place with the jack, slide it over the rack with a rag to protect the rack.
Engine in or out in about 10 minutes.

And then you weld the radiator uprights back on, right Frank?

It should go in easy enough, I want another person to protect paint but all looks fine from here.

I have done quite a few times in the past with a 2x4 and me and a kid on each end. Think this crane will be a real nice deal.

Will have padding around.

floor jack is OK but it's safer with jackstands! Also wheels chocked at rear!

I was wondering about the radiator uprights too? In the past, before the Pep-Boys hoist, I always used a come-along hung from a rafter. Worked great but then the pawl broke on the come-along and I saw the PBs hoist and had to have it. Pulled engines out with the come-along dozens of times - used the hoist once so far! Be using it again soon (need to get into the tranny real soon).

The engine fits between the rad supports. I do leave the dizzy out and the carbs off.

Wow, must really be close. I would not have considered that, always lift over.
