This doesn't happen in a Volvo

So we got some converts now. Asian kids digging English cars. Maybe this'll start a trend. Looks like the Yakusa boss just got back from the prom.

The car fits you well!

I need to get the "proper" hat.

I don't think it'll look as good in a '79 though.

I need a BE.

Actually, especially since they drive on the "correct" side of the road, there are quite a few LBC enthusiasts in Japan, and some really GREAT examples of just about every LBC in collections over there!

Those are great PIC's. Thanks

You guys are so much more civilized and cultured than I. All I can think when I look at those pics is "How did those dorky looking guys end up with those total babes????"

That's one of the perks of being in the Yakuza. Then again, it might be their math tutors.

Besides, it's been my experience that they don't date outside of their own culture. U.N.O was SWARMING with them and they wouldn't even look at you, even if you had a class with them.

I took Ruby Redcar out for a spin today, one of my favorite routes around the Palos Verdes peninsula. I pulled in to the whale-watch center at Point Vicente, a very pretty area with a historic lighthouse nearby. It's a nice place to stop for a stretch, which is necessary fairly often if you're six feet tall, sixty years old, with a problematical prostate (on second thought, let's not go there), and driving a Bugeye.

As I pulled into the parking lot, a photographer came up to me. He said that they were taking wedding pictures, and asked if he could photograph the couple in my car. Sure, I said, why not?

So, the couple squeezed into the Bugeye, tried to find some place to stuff the wedding gown, and spent about 10 minutes taking at least a bazillion pictures. The people in the wedding party had their cameras out as well, and were clicking away merrily.

I gave the photographer my business card and asked him to email me a copy of one or two pictures, which he readily agreed to do. I hope he doesn't forget. I almost brought my own camera with me, but decided at the last minute not to bring it--after all, it would probably just be something to worry about. I won't make that mistake again!

When it was all over, I drove off, with more clicking behind me, them thanking me, and me giving my best wishes to the happy couple. I'm still chuckling.
So what is your point. Do you want hero worship?

No it was an amusing story, so I thought some people might be interested. If you're not, fine, but let's leave off the gratuitous accusations, OK?

So how did an "unregistered" guy get to post, let alone post "offensively"????
I wish I had the opportunity to post of a neat encounter like Sarastro's!!

Guys, thanks for the back-up.

One thing I love about this forum--you can post things without having to worry about some troll "flaming" you. (Or, usually you can.) Genuinely friendly, tolerant, helpful people. I'd hate to see that change.

I participate in a classic-bicycles mailing list, and every time I post something, I feel like I'm walking on eggshells--someone is bound to respond in some offensive way. I've largely given it up for that reason. And I don't even think about newsgroups any more.

Same with the "Scion Life" forum. I gave up.
LBC peeps are a different breed. Haven't met one yet that I didn't like.

Don't worry about it...

He's probably just an annoyed Volvo owner.... :jester:

aughta see what goes on a zcarDOTcom. They even have a forum called "fight club".

He was registered before and had a avatar and I think 259 posts, joined in '07.

Pehaps Basil handled the situation.

All I know is Sarastro must be doin' sumptin' right. He got three of them young Asian chics in his car .....and I can't even get them to TALK to me.

To that I say....

....I am not worthy !!!!
