Hello-
I am trying to see if perhaps a BN2 my Dad had when he was a teenager is still around, the # was/is, 228592 from that # it seems like a very early BN2 which was built in '55? Car was red when he had it (sold in in NYS in May of '63), but he thinks it was originally black with red interior. Would be be great to track this car down if it still exists.... Any thoughts on tracking it down?
THanks
Ed

As the BJ8 Registrar, I receive questions like this all the time about BJ8s. Most current owners are interested in the previous history of their cars, and many former owners would like to locate cars they (or their father/uncle, etc.) used to own. The registries provide pretty much the only resource available to give anyone any hope of locating a former vehicle years after it was last seen. I know there are BJ8 owners in the forum who haven't chosen to allow me to add their car to the record, for whatever reason, but I strongly encourage them to do so. At least give me a chance to convince you it's the right thing to do. Basil has made it easy by providing buttons at the top of the Healey forum where you can submit the details of your car to the appropriate registry. Some day you (or your son, grandson, etc.) may be glad you did. Do you want the knowledge that you were the fortunate owner of YOUR car to disappear with you?

Anyone have a link or email so I can get in contact with the 100 Registry?

Uh..... as I said above, Basil has made it easy to contact the appropriate registrar by providing buttons at the top of the Austin-Healey Forum main page. If you don't want to use the 100 REGISTRY button then contact Randy Hicks: ahca100registrar@gmail.com

Hi Ed, sorry I've been on the road the last 4 days.

Currently I have records on approx. 3400 BN1/2's. Unfortunately I have no record of 28592. I will add it with a note that you are looking for the car if it ever shows up.

You are right that it is an early BN2. It would have been built mid to late September 1955.

Randy
