Was going to mount this on the trunk lid, but could not bring myself to drill three holes in the lid.

So I put it here.

This light is from mid ninetys Chev Astro Van and I believe the Suburban and a few other GMs. Had to make a few mods to get it to fit. This will only work with the early 6s as the laters have the license plate light in that location. If you count there are 48 leds.

I like that! Good positioning.

I found a third light from a 80's year Jag convertable, I have not reinstalled it yet after I painted my TR6 Still thinking about it, like you said tough to drill holes in a new boot lid

Hondo

I designed and built my own third high light for my 1958 TR3A. I drilled the securing holes up under the rear flap of the tonneau cover. The extra screws are also hidden by the flap of my soft-top roof or my stick cover. I paid $25.00 for the LED strip at a flea market and the position of the light permits me to re-fuel the tank because the new light does not intertfere with the gas filler cap.

I put the light high where it can be more easily seen by the sleepy semi-trailer driver who is sitting in traffic behind me and so he will see me and not drive up onto the back of my TR like I heard happened to a TR6 owner.

BTW, I can remove the whole assembly in about a minute if I am showing my TR in the judged concours at VTR or TRA.

I made a ABS plastic bracket for my CHMSL (3rd lamp) & screwed it to the inside of the trunk lid reinforcement. The bracket is sort of Z shaped & comes up from the foreward edge of the lid.
That way there are no exterior holes.
The lamp assembly itself is a small LED rear sidemaker lamp that uses almost no current & is very bright.

I like Don's idea above, but what about Gorilla-gluing some nice strong magnets to an Astro Van CHMSL?
