TR6 Think I finally found a TR6!

After looking for quite a long time, I think I finally found a project TR6. The car is a 76, a 100% rust free Texas car with 50,000 miles. It hasn't run since 1987.

Questions I have:

1. What are the best books to have as a reference?

2. I am going to replace the entire brake and clutch hydraulic systems as well as rebuild the entire front and rear suspension. It would be nice to be able to order "complete kits" for each of these setups. I have seen a few "complete" kits for the front suspension that only seem to be bushing kits. I would like ball joints, shocks, all rubber, tie rod ends, the works (no springs). Are TRF Steering Magic kits the way to go here?

3. How do I prime the oil pump when I go to start the car?

4. There is a small white box mounted to the "shelf" next to the master cylinders. It appears to either be the speedo or tach drive gearbox. Which is it? Mine is deteriorated badly.

I am sure dozens more questions will come up shortly, however hopefully many can be avoided with helpful answers to #1. Thank you!

For mechanicals, the factory workshop manual (or the Bentley reprint) is the book to have.

The white box is probably the EGR counter, in the speedo cable. It doesn't change the ratio, so unless you are into strict originality (or want the nag feature to work), you can just eliminate it by using the speedo cable from an earlier TR6.

It counts miles. I forget the details offhand, but it was a US emissions requirement. Every 30,000 (or was it 50,000?) miles, it closes a contact and lights the "Service EGR" light on the dash. In theory, the owner (you) wouldn't know how to reset the counter (to turn out the light) and so would have to take it to an "authorized" smog shop for service. Not sure about PA, but in CA the car would flunk inspection if the light was on.
