Things I learned today...

Found out today that I can zip through a large set of roundabouts in a new shopping center area at easily triple the posted speed limits in my TR8. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Then, a few minutes later, that the Colorado Highway Patrol now has Dodge Chargers. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif Those things look really intimidating all done up in uniform. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif

No 'High Speed Driving Certificates' were issued. The two events were unrelated. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

WHEW! Pleased to hear it!

We have at least one official "City of Columbia" 4 wheeler police car... along with a 4wd SUV for the more mountainous terrain...

Not sure why my tax dollars had to pay for those in a 'suburban' town of 7000...
~rolls eyes~

yup we have some-o-those charger cruisers here too. I gotta say they look good. bout time our hard working men (and women) in uniform got some cool wheels.

Where I work, Auburn Hills, is the home of Chrysler HQ. The Auburn Hills PD has Magnums, Chargers, Jeeps, and other Chrysler products.
Coincidence? Nope. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

We've got some Charger's here too, some of them are completely unmarked and have LED lights in the dash. Stealth cops! We've also got a large amount of regular peopel that like to drive around in look-a-like, or old cop cars

While driving through Wyoming,I noticed
a Black car, after it passed me.
It was a Charger - this was back in August,
Wyoming State Patrol vehicle.
Somewhere West of Laramie.

Ant-ony, Look a little closer at my sig and you'll see that the red wedge has one already. Factory installed even. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

My sis, the cop, is totally drooling over getting a hemi-charger for her cruiser. Her 'Police Interceptor' Crown Vic just isn't cutting it for her anymore.

Word of warning for anyone visiting the Colorado I-70 corridor anytime soon. The CHP has some very hard to spot unmarked vehicles that patrol from Denver to Dillon/Silverthorne. A grey Chevy Trailblazer and a blue Ford F-150. With the amount of Trucks/SUV's in Colorado those things are practically hiding in plain sight. No visible light units when they are off. But they get all kinds of sparkly when they hit the 'Go' button.

Today I learned that one can almost heel & toe in a Jeep, and almost clip an early apex, but not both...at the same time...downhill...in the rain... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

I'm such an eighteen-year-old sometimes. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Just don't "unlearn" it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

swift6, oops sorry missed the 8cyl nice, ive always felt that driving real fast is alot of fun right up to the instant you loose it and the pucker factor sets in. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Cops in my neck of the woods still driving Crown Vics as their cruisers. But I did learn that detectives still use POS Ford Tarus’.

Ask me how I know. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

Cammy:

I can't heel toe my jeep that well because the accelerator is two low compared to the brake (96 model). But she does get a great drift coming out of an apex, be careful in the wet though, haven't lost it yet, but have been within a foot.

Patrick

BTW - Yellow Cabs here, Malibu's

Yeas, my accelerator is fairly low too, I have to blip the throttle with the rightmost metatarsal bone while pivoting my ankle. It's a lot easier in a "proper" car.

No problem Anthony, my response was sort of tongue in cheek anyway. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I usually try to find that point of 'pucker factor' and then drive a few notches below it when I'm driving fast. That way, I have fun and still have some in reserve if I need to go faster.

Foolish rice boys... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

The CHP had Crown Vics with V10's in them.
You can spot them by the louvers in the hood.
