Supposed to rain all day, so now I need to do some work on the midget. Wheel shimmy from some where when I get up to 55mph, smooth as silk at 50. I need to balance all the tires again. Slight play in the steering. I need to check wheel bearings and tie rods and the rest of the suspension for any slop. I also need to recheck the toe in. I have not done that since before the front clip was put on. I need to hook up my gas tester and get the fuel mixture right. Still smells very rich when driving. I ordered some under sized main jets for this weber as well. Also, I need to clean the metal filter in the carb out and replace the float or something. Yesterday in a long pull up a hill, it ran out of gas. I had to pull over and let it settle out before taking off again. This happened only going up hill and never on the straight. I was not WOT when it did this and the stock fuel pump should be enough to keep the float bowl full. I never had this problem before when I drove it, but that was 10 years ago.

I got the toe in adjusted. It was toed out over 1/4 inch. After I set this I was gonna test it out but then came the rains. I want to test this out before rebalanceing the tires because I thought I had them balanced right. Maybe the toe was causing all my problems. I found out that I ordered the wrong jets for the weber. The smallest jet I got in is the exact size of the main I have now. I got confused with the air corrector jets and just ordered the wrong stuff. Its running too rich. I soldered up one of the new bigger jets and drilled it out to a smaller size for a trial. I cleaned out the filter in the carb and there was lots of junk in it but still the fuel flow is not right. I think I am going to have to tear the carb back apart and see if there is any trash in the needle area that I did not get out.
