So 'smits finally has a new J-O-B... "Executive Assistant". Sounds important, huh? Well, she took to it like a duck to water and for that I'm overjoyed.
BUT! I ~somehow~ got "volunteer'd" to do some work for her new organization... SHOOTING GOLFERS! Chasin' a horde of golfers around an 18-hole course, making reflected light images ALL DAY yesterday. Shotgun start, a list of "celebrities" to hunt down. Weather was ideal, high 70's. They did furnish me with a "cart". A greenskeeper's utility cart, Jacobsen manufacture. Poor ol' thing groaned at every start (a gas engine!), the "transmission" seemed to be a belt on a centrifugal clutch. Brakes would shudder at the very second before it stopped completely and the pedal lock would work about half the time. Steering "response" would be a misnomer. Now, I'm a 'reformed' golfer, understand the game, the rules, the etiquette. Trying to tip-toe up to a tee or green in that thing was out of the question, so I had to consider that in the equation when attempting to get all the pix on my 'duty roster'. Weapons of choice: two Nikons with motor-drives, one with a 135mm other with a 35~70mm zoom. Fuji print film for ammo. I think I got 'em all. Had to stick around for the trophy presentations and dinner. They fed me (rubber chicken, I think). Dog-tired when it was over.
...and all I got for it was a lousy T-shirt. :smirk:
But Herself got kudos from the podium and raucous applause from the crowd for her efforts. For that I'm pleased
This about sums it up:
