Yep - wonder why so close to the mountains? Does it have something to do with more lift?

& what do ya think the first guy who donned one of those suits & jumped off a mountain thought?

Tony, I would imagine they're using the thermals off the rock face.
I bet I could tell you what the first guy thought, about two seconds after he jumped, but Basil would run me out of town on a rail! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Might get more lift, but, from what one of them said, I think they just like to be close to the mountain because it's more fun. Probably gives them a greater feeling of speed.

I liked that in the intro, one guy said they initially went far out, but that "got boring" so now they're right up against the mountain.

Yeah, makes my motorcycling seem downright tame and old fashioned -- and that's just fine by me. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

What was it Woody told Buzz Lightyear? You aren't flying, you're just falling with style.
I'm not sure I have the guts anymore for that type of insanity. Sometimes I miss the invincibility of youth.

Hehe, I am reminded of the old quote "When life gets boring...risk it!!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
