Who have paid their entry fee and as of today we will see at the Lake of the Ozarks. About 150 hotel room reservations have been made.

I know, tax rebates comming and govt. check for resession fix as well but if you can manage to make your reservations sooner it would be appreciated. You can not beleive how much work goes into the planning for one of these.

Jack,
I do HOPE someone is planning on having NAME TAGS available. Preprinted would be nice, but plain white ones that could be filled in would do.

I see a lot of names of folks I'd like to meet, but without name tags it's a matter of spending way too much time with introductions...and some folks aren't nearly as forward as you or I! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

As an incentive, in lieu of name tags, I nominate YOU as Mr. Congeniality to make sure everybody meets everybody. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yep, me too Ray. Was just a short get together.

Hows the garage comming, Pics?

I will be at the registeration table for sure, and how could you miss Miss Agatha.

BCF folks will get together for sure. Name tags for all are part of the package.

Excellent, Jack...I figured you guys already had this covered as everything I've seen thus far indicates this will be a first class event.

Thanks for asking about the new garage/shop, Jack...it's coming along...four walls up and ready to set the main beam. I'm having fun deciding on the "furnishings"... details and photos at:

Ray, my father has just put one of those lifts in his garage. He seems to really like it. GregSmithEquipment(Indy) is only about 1.5 hours from us. He did have to go back and alter his roof trusses to get the clearance he wanted.

I wanna park next to her!!

Donn, I was doing an art project with my daughter, and she said (she's quite bossy) that I had to draw a cartoon character. It's hard to tell in the avatar, but he is unshaven and smoking a cigar.

I've made hotel reservations for the Ozrks, and I'm going to register, but first I need to make sure I have child care arranged and my wife does not know if she can clear that weekend off her schedule yet.

Boy, I got to see that.

Here is a larger version. I'm going to finish him and make him my car's mascot.

Yes, Greg Smith Equipment (Atlanta) is where I'll be getting mine...45 minute drive for me. And the place for the UCoatIt (Floors-n-Motion) is on the way.

I was considering another lift (OH8000) but talked with the folks at Greg Smith and decided on the Atlas 9000). The lift is 11' 10" high and my ceiling is 13' (walls are 10' with a 3' tray) so I'll have plenty of clearance. I actually settled on the lift, THEN designed the shop around it.

Ray

I guess they are not keen on the OH8000. That is the one my father was going to buy and they sold him on the other.

When my father built his garage I do not think he saw the need for a lift, but as he has gotten older he has decided they are worth the money as his agility lessens.

We don't want to think about agility lessening. Positive, positive, positive. I'd love a lift but with a concrete slab over the 1 car garage that isn't going to happen. 7 1/2 feet of headroom, not going to do much with what I've got. Bugsy is about the only car that fits in this garage. Not even enough clearance with garage door to get the Suburban to stick the front fenders in. I need room. Ray if we had settled on the house at the lake we were working on 2 years ago I had those plans for the 40 x 40 garage all worked out. Plenty of room for shop, Bugsy, boat storage in the back and even space for my office in a loft area. Oh it would have been great. Unfortunately the deal fell through. Such is life, now with 6 correct numbers on Tuesday night all my garage plans would be definitely supersized.

Agree on the agility...not really a consideration.

When you consider that the ground clearance on a stock Spridget is (was new) 5" you're talking about either ramps or jacks/stands for any work underneath. The lift just makes the process simpler and, perhaps, safer.

Know what you mean about garage space, Jim. My present two car garage (22'x24') has a full compliment of wood working tools (including a Delta Unisaw with the wide side table), a 7'x2' hardwood work bench, hardwood storage against the wall, all my garage tools, a 3'x3' trash bin, a Triumph TR3, and the '62 Sprite (project; usually up on the rotisserie). Fortunately, all the wood working tools are on mobile bases and easlily moved to the perimeter. The new shop will certainly be a welcomed addition.

A friend has a slightly oversized single car garage - he has a lift - not a hoist - more like a motorcycle lift for cars (I think) haven't really looked close but it looks like 2-3 feet of lift. works for his big healey
