Thermostat Housing Gasket--Must the Sealant Dry?

Can I start up my car after replacing the thermostat housing gasket, or must I wait for some cure period? I say I can just start, but thought I'd check...

I guess that may depend on what sealant you used.

Hylomar for instance is good to go immediately (never dries anyway).

Aviation form-a-gasket takes awhile to fully set but gets fairly gooey-firm in a short time.

RTV has a dry time. Permatex "Right Stuff" is ready to go right away.
