Drove over to Orlando this eve to participate in youngest nephew's graduation from UCF. Dined at a "Japanese" restaurant in a "strip mall". Called "Sho Gun"... I have my suspicions it's manned NOT by Japanese but rather Hong Kong Chinese and folks from Tiawan... A couple of the chefs may be from Nippon but that's about it.

...but I gotta say: th' FOOD was excellent.

I heard ya breathin'.

If it had been planned as a longer stay we'd have tried to pre-arrange a TR3 viewing.

best mex food i ate in a long time was in the cook islands,
beat the tex/mex of LA and baja la paz by a mile, the chalupas (seafood) had me

doc, everyone in da back of my fav. chin. rest. are mexicans!

Same here. I quit eating Chinese two years ago cause all three resturants here are all illegals in the kitchen.

Hey Stig,
You're a couple of miles away from me. 436 & 50.

I spent the past week in Orlando. Left the 90-degree humidity and got home yesterday to 68-degrees and overcast. Feels like winter all of a sudden.

My daughter went to a Japanese immersion school so we thought it would be fun to take her class to a Japanese restaurant for her birthday. Turns out they are mostly owned by Koreans.

I'm Irish and I used to own a Mexican restaurant (for about 5 years). Who cares who runs the joint as long as the food is good.

One of the local Chinese take-out places is owned & operated by Vietnamese....the world has truely become international!

Whereas the Mexican down the road from work is ran by Chinese. Gotta love the global marketplace.

For extra credit, and to even the score, I want to see someone find a curry house run by Mexicans.

My friend and neighbor who was recently killed in a trucking crash was a black man, he and I would joke/daydream once in a while about openin' a pub... call it: "Black & Tan". Serve English and Irish beers. :jester:

Sure do miss that guy. Ordinarily right about NOW we'd be standing in my open garage, chowin' on ham 'n egg sammiges, reviewin' the comin' week's plans... *sigh*

Doc,

Was that the guy I met while at your place?
Hope his family's doing Ok.
