He's Army ROTC and they aren't giving out very many Officerships any more. He's #3 in his graduating class for one.
He's also joined the guard and does basic this summer and then specialty school in the fall.
So he want's all the practice before he's at basic

Yeah, and that ain't one of them. My kids know how to handle one of those, and practicing is a good thing when the bad guys break a window at 0230.

I don't think paper will give them much trouble. :highly_amused:

The NOT knowing should worry you. I had a friend a long time ago accidentally kill himself by mishandling a weapon and doing something REALLY stupid.

It's a S&W, he's also shot a a Glock and a Browning.
Only rifle is a AK. If that's considered a rifle.
I have no idea what he has to qualify with.
His friend in ROTC and other classes owns all these

Congratulations Don. (I"m assuming your boy?)

He's applying for an intern program with the State Dept and also our State Gov't.
He's gonna be busy if one comes through

It is and is night and day different from the AR he will have to qualify with.

Get him to get familiar with a real piece. .45ACP Colt. 1911.

I misspoke , thought about it yesterday.
It was an AR 15
I'm not a gun guy,sorry.
Everything I know about guns I learned on NCIS:eagerness:

The AR-15 and the M-16 are very similar rifles; the current sidearm for the Army is the Beretta M92, of course that will be being replaced pretty soon.

Walt, son says the Berretta M9 is a dog.
Heavy,unreliable and most hate it.
He says thank god they are ditching it

Hi Join Date,
My bad, I always thought your name was Don.

"the Berretta M9 is a dog"

I couldn't agree more that's why I have a real piece, a .45ACP M1911.
