Actually... I'm somewhat amazed at how much interest there is in skating an hockey here. I knew very few people who cared about hockey at all in the DC area (even though we had an NHL team). When I moved here I met lots of people who had kids playing hockey in high school.

I thought everyone would be into playing football and stuff so that was a surprise (and honestly very few people at work, then, ever even watched it).

A variation of Bocce Ball or Lawn Bowls, but not as warm and it's easier to slip over.
 
US vs Canada in hockey is in progress (US leads 2-1 halfway through 1st period) and they're showing <span style="font-style: italic">ice dancing</span>?

We reconnected the TV for this! Does anyone know if the game will be broadcast in its entirety? Sometime before 2014?

I thought CNBC and MSNBC were basic channels on DTV here but... who knows.

We're totally sucking out the joint this year, way too many close calls for medals that we should have won... And in the meantime our neighbours to the south are kicking our butts rather badly all over the place... :crazy:
 
Yuh. I heard that in Thunder Bay they're burning snow-men and knocking over snow machines!
 
Could be... They're so isolated up there in the middle of nowhere, getting cabin fever... :lol:

What a great game it was! Hope we get to play again before this is over.
 
Canada beats Germany in hockey. First step to the Canada vs USA rematch for gold!

I am rooting for a Canada silver in men's hockey. We also get Can vs USA in women's hockey! WOOHOO!
 
I too am looking forward to those games, just a reversal in results.

The US-Canada hockey game was one of the best I've ever seen. Two amazing teams. Can't wait for the finals. And my condolences on the loss to our friends across the northern border. That game could have gone either way.
