The Vision

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]on my web site which in that view looks more like just a list of parts required since I've hidden the "Cost" and "Notes" columns. Costs are hidden because certain vendors provided price breaks for volume purchases and did not want the information disclosed; [/QUOTE]

I've hidden my "costs" too but just so my wife won't kill me /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

My vision was sorta race-inspired, street-legal. Of course the operative word there is "was".

In the space of about a month, my wife wrecked her motorcycle, my motorcycle blew the engine, we sold our gas hog and bought a TDI Jetta for the misses.

That left me with only the Midget which means I'm now trying to undo all mods I had previously made, ie. real windshield, doors with windows, put a heater back in, replace the windshield wipers and windshield washers, etc. When I did all that work I never expected that the midget would be my daily driver particularly during the winter months.

Needless to say, a vision is a good thing to have but you have to stay flexible. Luckily I too belive that (almost) no mod should be irreversible.

I've kinda redone the body, wheels, and drive train to my wildest dreams. This winter I'm addressing my heating issues (aluminum rad) and have thought of some rear end mods. I've noticed the seats I redid about 25 yrs ago have started to pull apart, and have found leather at a good cost. My sprite guru says leather in a sprite just isn't right, but...

I'll be doing leather when I redo the seats. I need something that breathes better, as it gets hot here in the summer. As Donn said, better than cloth!

Hot in Utah, who you think you are kidding Drew.

The pair of Miata Seats I got for $150.00 are looking like the ticket. Got a set out of a '96 black cloth in great shape. Headrest speakers, and I got some bass blocker capacitors to install in the headrest for better performance from those tiny speakers. Leather just too sweaty for me. Bugsy is warm, warm, warm in the summer with Black Vinyl Seats as it is. Haven't installed yet but they will be in there before Spring.

Not right now (it's a balmy 32* here, practically a heat wave), but summer temps in the valley can get quite warm. I've seen 104*F, and high 90s even here in the mountains.

One more reason for non skyers to live elsewhere. lol

Relevant Bible Quote for Today

Where there is no vision, the people perish (Prov. 29:18)

Was cleaning the garage and had an idea - here is my next amount of motivation

BTW newer versions of the bible translate the same verse,

"Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint." - kind of applies to our shopping lists doesn't it? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
