I found this linked from the Moss Facebook page:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]
Article from the March 1971 issue of Car & Driver Magazine remembering the TR3. The article was titled: “The Unlikely Tractor” with the sub-title “Out of desperation Triumph mated an unimaginative British Saloon with, of all things, a tractor engine and the resultant issue went on to become one of the world’s most popular sports cars.”[/QUOTE]

Ah, back in the days when C&D didn't get too disturbed by facts!

So many big and little errors in that article, it's basically not worth addressing! (But I will just point out that Standard developed the wet-liner engine that went into the Vanguard and, very soon thereafter, into a version of the Ferguson tractor. Ferguson didn't develop the engine!)

Hey, Mickey, I love a good story as much as anyone does, but....

(I think there were a few too many points on that poetic license; probably should have been suspended! )

DUI!
