A few shots from my second unscheduled rest stop. Note the trail of oil in the first picture. Last shot is of the first gasket to go. It looks like the filter canister cut it.

Was it overtightened? Mis-aligned?
 
Figured out last night that the gasket wasn't seated right, and that there is an ancient gasket stuck to the bottom of the little channel. I posted some more detail here:
